Disney's Contemporary Resort is probably the most famous of the hotels at Walt Disney World - it's the "A-framed" shaped hotel with the monorail running through it. It's perfect for trips to the Magic Kingdom, the next stop on the monorail.
The Contemporary Resort is a 15-story that's over 25 years old, but has occasionally been upgraded to keep it near the top of the "luxury list" of Disney hotels. There are a little over 1,000 guest rooms, two swimming pools, a marina on "Bay Lake", Mouseketeer Clubhouse, sauna, health club, tennis courts, three lounges, four restaurants, babysitting services and boat rental. Rooms are classified as either "Magic Kingdom View" (looking out over you-know-what), "Lake/Pool View" or "Garden/Standard View".
The California Grill is a popular on-site dining spot featuring a menu of "Pacific rim inspired" items and a great view of the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks. For a "real American" meal you can try the Concourse Steakhouse, while "Chef Mickey's" offers a family-friendly buffet.
