Near Sea World
"Grande" is appropriate to describe the Spanish-style JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes. We're talking about over 1,000 rooms on 500-acres just two miles east of Sea World and 10 miles from the Orlando airport.
More than just another hotel, this place has a bit of an amusement park feel to it. Those 500 acres include a big old-looking Spanish fountain (kind of the signature of the place), a 20,000-plus-square-foot "lazy river"-style waterpark, lots of places to eat (including poolside), tennis courts, a big spa, and the Greg Norman-designed golf course.
Eateries include "Primo" for Italian cuisine, "Citron" for modern American fare, the Lobby Lounge, "Quench" Bar & Grill and, of course, a Starbucks. Don't want to walk to a restaurant? 24-hour room service is just a phone call away. Rooms have high-speed Internet access, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, bathrobes, marble bathrooms, separate showers and tubs, minibars, complimentary coffee, free weekday newspapers, and - always our favorite - phones in the bathroom!
The Marriott Grande Lakes is two miles from Wet 'n' Wild and Discovery Cove, seven miles from Universal Studios, and an easily driveable 10 miles north of Disney World.
